Adoption of a program encourages US companies to detect corruption activities

اعتماد برنامج يشجع الشركات الامريكية على كشف أنشطة فساد
Deputy Justice Minister Ruud Rosenstein has announced a revised version of a training program adopted by the administration of former President Barack Obama to encourage US and foreign companies operating in the United States to disclose bribes paid to foreign officials and cooperate with the ministry, in return for the reduction of fines imposed on them significantly.

Rosenstein adopted the program, which was launched in April last year permanently, to be included in the Attorney General's Manual.

The Deputy Minister of Justice pointed out that the training program proved successful in dealing with corporate crimes and disclosure. .

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act criminalizes any US or foreign company listed on US stock exchanges to pay bribes to a foreign official.

The program provides US government partners with a 50 percent reduction in fines. A new provision was added stating that there was a "presumption" that the Ministry of Justice would not prosecute those companies.

Since the launch of the program, corporate disclosure of voluntary bribery has increased by 50 percent from 18 to 30 companies.
