An earthquake struck the central Atlantic Ocean on the east coast of the United States late Thursday, and there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The Geological Survey said the earthquake struck 4.1 at 4:45 pm and was centered about six miles (10 km) northeast of Dover, Delaware.
People from places as far away as Washington, New York and Baltimore have reported feeling the earthquake.
Police and emergency officials did not immediately report any damage or injuries.
John Pliny, a geophysicist at the Colorado Geological Survey Information Center, said any damage would be limited.
Dover Air Force spokeswoman Rene Carpieri said some people in the military facilities felt the quake and some went abroad to see if anything had happened.
There were no indications of damage to the base, and no changes were expected in the operations.
