A Texas court this week charged six US women with transporting explosive materials with the intent to kill and injure people after mailing them to political figures, US media reported on Thursday.
According to the lawsuit, Julia Bove, 46, was charged with sending explosive devices by mail to former President Barack Obama, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Social Security Inspector Carolyn Calvin in October 2016.
The governor of Texas escaped severe burns or even murder, according to the lawsuit papers. He opened the mail in an inappropriate manner, which helped to prevent the transmitter from exploding. While others did not open it.
The authorities were able to access Bove by tracking signs on one of the packages that EBay had sent to her, which helped investigators identify her address, as well as through the hair of a cat she had found in the parcel she sent to Obama.
The suit, which faces other charges of fraud, said it "did not like the president" and "disturbed" the governor of Texas, the lawsuit papers said.
